Sub regional training: Engagement with UN International Human Rights Bodies- for GCC countries - Kuwait, 18 to 21 November
The Centre, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kuwait (Department of Human Rights) and Sheikh Soud Nasser AlSabah Kuwait Diplomatic Institute, organized a training for the benefit of diplomats from the Gulf Countries and representatives from the secretariate of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on “Engaging with the International Mechanisms for Human Rights” in Kuwait. The objective of the training was to anchor human rights in diplomatic work and enhance the engagement of diplomats with international human rights mechanisms and within the UN system, with specific focus on mechanisms and treaties that address Member States’ obligations and their responsibilities to respect, protect and fulfil human rights. 23 participants, from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, attended the training.
