Training Session on Monitoring and Documenting Human Rights Violations in Armed Conflict

On 5 May 2026, the UN Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia and the Arab Region under the Human Rights Education Unit, delivered a session on Monitoring and Documenting human rights violations in armed conflict in a training addressed to the youth in the Arab region in collaboration with the International Humanitarian Law and Youth Initiative. The session focused on the principles of monitoring and methodology of documentation; do no harm, confidentiality, and data protection, tools, and standards. 38 youth organizations representing human rights defenders, practitioners, human rights organizations and civil society, youth networks, and peace builder from the following Arab countries Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Qatar, Sudan, Tunisia, Yemen.
