Announcement: The Arab Human Rights Moot Court Competition – Second Edition (2026)
The United Nations Training and Documentation Centre on Human Rights for South-West Asia and the Arab Region, through its Human Rights Education Unit, is pleased to invite universities in Arab countries to participate in the second edition of the Arab Human Rights Moot Court Competition. The regional round of the competition will take place in Doha, Qatar, hosted by the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies.
The competition aims to enhance students’ knowledge and practical skills in the field of international human rights law through practical training and judicial simulation, in line with relevant international standards.
Target Group:
- Undergraduate students (third and fourth year) and Master’s students enrolled in Faculties of Law and Human Rights programs.
- Each team must consist of a minimum of two students and a maximum of four students.
Competition Stages:
- Interactive online training sessions during April 2026.
- Written memorials phase during May and June 2026.
- Oral preliminary rounds (in-person or online) during July and August 2026.
- Regional round of the competition, hosted by the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies in Doha, State of Qatar, during October 2026.

- Timeline document.
- Initial Expression of Interest Form.
Important Note:
The Initial Expression of Interest Form must be signed or officially stamped by an authorized and officially designated representative of the university, in order to confirm the university’s formal intention to participate in the competition.
Confirmation of Participation (no later than Tuesday, 31 March):
To confirm participation, please send an official email from the university’s institutional email address to:
ohchr-dohacentre@un.org
The email must include:
- The signed or stamped Initial Expression of Interest Form.
- A clear statement confirming the university’s official intention to participate in the competition.
