First consultative meeting with youth-focused human rights organizations in the Arab States
Description
On 20 January 2026, the Human Rights Education Unit, within the Youth Component at the UN Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia, hosted its first online consultation, bringing together 19 youth-led and youth-focused organizations from Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, Sudan, and Tunisia. The consultation provided a platform for participating youth organizations to exchange views on key priorities, challenges, and opportunities for strengthening youth engagement in human rights work, as well as to explore ways to enhance coordination, networking, and future collaboration with the Centre.
