Training and briefing Sessions for University Students in preparation for the -Moot Court-Activity , Online– March 21st and 28th.

Description

The Centre, in collaboration with the “Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie” (AUF) delivered the second set of online training sessions on “Complaints procedures before the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)” and on discussing “Case studies before International Human Rights Mechanisms (CPRPD, CRC, CCPR)”. The sessions aimed to help the undergraduate and postgraduate students draft a national law that protects the rights of persons with disabilities in accordance with international standards. This comes as part of the Moot Court competition implemented by the Centre and AUF which targets students from universities in 5 Arab countries and supports the establishment of legal clinics for the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities. The final competition will take place in Jordan in July 2024. The training sessions were attended by 62 students (45% female) from Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and the State of Palestine.
