UN House in Doha - MOFA Workshop – Qatar, June 5th
The Centre participated in an event to introduce the UN offices, based at the UN house in Doha, to officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as representatives from the public and private sectors. The event commenced with opening words by HE Sheikha Hanouf Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Director of the International Organizations Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Qatar, who underscored the importance of the United Nations House and its 13 constituent offices. The head of the Centre delivered a presentation on OHCHR’s role and presence in the region and highlighted the Centre’s objectives, ongoing and planned activities as well as its main partnerships in Qatar. The workshop was followed with a networking session through booths that offered detailed information and materials on each of the 13 UN office’s mandates and activities.
