Regional Training Program for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) working on Children's Rights in the Arab region

Description

On September 8th and 9th, the United Nations Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia and the Arab Region delivered the third phase of the Regional Training Programme for Civil Society Organizations Working on Children’s Rights in the Arab Region, organized in collaboration with the Arab Network for Child Rights – Manara. The third phase, titled “Advocacy in the Field of Children’s Rights,”  aimed introduce key advocacy principles and approaches and focused on developing participants’ capacity to plan and design effective advocacy strategies for the promotion and protection of children’s rights. Attention was given to identifying advocacy objectives, developing appropriate strategies and actions, and strengthening participants’ ability to use advocacy as a practical tool to address children’s rights issues within their respective contexts.

The sessions were delivered by two speakers from Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) and the International Network for Aid Relief and Assistance (INARA) bringing complementary practical expertise to the programme. A total of 22 participants (13 women) from civil society organizations from Iraq, Lebanon, Mauritania, Palestine, and Yemen, participated in the third phase.
