On 8 and 9 July 2026, the United Nations Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia and the Arab Region delivered the second phase of the regional training programme on “Principles and methods for monitoring and documenting violations of children's rights” in collaboration with the Arab Network for Child Rights- Manara. 

The second phase focused on “Principles and methods for monitoring and documenting violations of children's rights” and aims to strengthen participants’ knowledge of the principles of monitoring and the different types of child rights violations, while equipping them with practical skills in this field. The 2nd phase also aims to enhance participants’ skills in monitoring and documenting child rights violations using a human rights-based approach, ensure their ability to apply ethical standards when working with children throughout the monitoring and documentation process, and strengthen their capacity to effectively analyze and use monitoring findings to support advocacy and promote the protection of children's rights. The session was delievered in collaboartion with OHCHR field presence and UNICEF. 

30 participants from 37 civil society organizations participated in the training including 16 women from the following Arab countries Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Mauritania, Palestine, Tunisia, Yemen.
