The Role of the Media in Promoting the Enjoyment of the Right to Adequate Food, Morocco - 9 to 11 July
The Centre and ROMEAN in collaboration with regional partners, organized a regional human rights training course for media professionals on “the role of the media in promoting the enjoyment of the right to adequate food: in the context of armed conflicts and environmental and climate change”.
Participants were introduced to human rights principles and standards, human rights bodies and mechanisms related to journalism, as well as the right to food, the obligations of states to respect, protect and implement it, and the link between the right to food and economic, social, cultural rights and other human rights.
25 journalists from Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, and Tunisia attended the training.
