Webinar for Youth in the Arab Region on: Digital Rights and Human Rights in the Digital Space
On 31 March 2026, the Human Rights Education Unit (HREU), within the Youth Component at the UN Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia, hosted its first webinar for the year 2026 on “Digital Rights and Human Rights in the Digital Space” bringing together 252 youth and youth-focused organizations from Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen. The webinar hosted speakers from SMEX, INSM, a youth-led organization and the HREU who provided a platform for participants to understand the fundamental concepts of digital rights and their relationship to the international human rights system, to identify challenges, and opportunities as well as to exchange best practices in the field of digital rights and to explore ways to enhance coordination, networking, and future collaboration with the Centre.
