Launching a Partnership with the Qatari Police Academy: Advancing Human Rights Education through a Strategic Collaboration
On 8 February 2026, the UN Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia and the Arab Region launched a strategic cooperation programme with the College of Graduate Studies at the Qatari Police Academy, aimed at strengthening partnerships in the fields of human rights and capacity-building. The programme will include specialized training on “Human Rights in the Context of Law Enforcement,” designed to promote professional practices and mainstream human rights principles among security personnel. In addition, the programme will feature a series of specialized lectures and academic contributions integrated into graduate courses in law and security studies, ensuring a human right–based approach aligned with international standard. The director of the College of Graduate Studies emphasized the importance of integrating human rights concepts into the educational process at the academy and strengthening this partnership that contributes to the development of academic programmes and enhances the capacity of security personnel in line with international standards.
