Regional Training Course on “Human Rights Standards in Journalism and Guidelines on Digital Platform Governance” – 10–11 November, Qatar

The Centre, in cooperation with the UNESCO Office for the Gulf States and Yemen, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, and Alaraby TV, organized a 2-day regional hybrid training in Doha for journalists from the Arab region on “Human Rights Standards in Journalism and the Guiding Principles for Digital Platform Governance.” The training introduced participants to key human rights principles and international mechanisms relevant to journalism, the rights and responsibilities of journalists, human rights challenges related to media work, and practical ways journalists can promote human rights in their journalistic work. 30 journalists from Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Somalia, Syria and Tunisia attended the training.
